Problems Printing

Problems Printing is a new collaborative fine-art printmaking studio and publisher based in Los Angeles. Problems works closely with artists to create original works in silkscreen, using printmaking as a medium for exploration and experimentation.

Problems Printing focuses on developing new approaches to collaborative printmaking that expands an artist’s practice and introduces collectors to their work. The facility is designed for hands-on experimentation and in-person collaboration, giving artists the space and guidance to realize their ideas in the medium of printmaking.

Founded by Lead Printmaker Tom Kracauer, with support from Printmakers Nick Perry and Sarah Plummer, Problems Printing has offered fine-art printmaking services to contemporary artists, designers, and institutions since 2013. Kracauer has collaborated with artists like Math Bass, Helen Cammock, Heather Day, Sayre Gomez, Lauren Halsey, Amanda Ross-Ho, and Henry Taylor, making Problems Printing a key collaborator and resource in the Los Angeles creative community.
