Founded in 1999, Booklyn, Inc. is an artist-run, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to promoting archives, artistsβ books, social movement ephemera, and prints. We believe these materials function not only as artworks, but also as vital research resources, educational tools, and support for community organizing.
Booklyn supports more than 100 artists, and over a dozen human rights organizations, with the designing, documenting, exhibiting, and distribution of socially engaged artwork. Through an academic network of more than 300 libraries, museums, and universities across the U.S., we ensure that these works reach scholars, activists, students, and the public.
Our focus is on supporting activist-artists, educators, librarians, and organizations committed to grassroots action within environmental, gender, and social justice movements.
This year weβll be presenting important printed artistsβ books and prints by: Golnar Adili, Wolfgang Buchta, Ken Campbell, Raoul Deal, Kyle Goen, Josh McPhee, Letra Muerta, Organik, Eliana Perez, Erik Ruin, Faviana Rodriguez, Beldan Sezen, MarΓa VerΓ³nica San MartΓn, and Voces de la Frontera.
