Located in the Hunter College MFA Building at 205 Hudson in Tribeca, the Corner Press Printmaking Studio is equipped for both traditional and experimental printmaking techniques. Hunterβs unique printmaking area is more than just a print studio; it is a dynamic research laboratory that gives printmakers the opportunity to engage with knowledge production, community engagement, and the evolution of publishing practices.
Led by Professor Alva Mooses with staff members Nick DβOrnellas, Alejandra Arias Sevilla, and Eva Parra, student exhibitors come from programs across the Hunter College community. This yearβs projects reflect the complexity of modern systems of power, politics, and identity, and represent diverse print techniques including risograph, silkscreen, and monotype. In addition, our booth includes a collection of hand-printed, hand-bound books created in the Hunter MFA course, Artist Books. The presented works incorporate themes including temporality, queer identity, and immigration, and reflect the urgent questions Hunter students are grappling with in their coursework.
Exhibitors include: Saul Acevedo Gomez, Farangiz Yusupova, Kevin Thomas-Welch, Rulin Ma, Clare Hu, Basharat Ali Syed, Sofia Rivera, Janina Butz, Weixi Zhang, Quin Mittelstead, Coco Ma, Farwah Rizvi, Andrew Carter, Lisa Mason, Bianca Rose Dominguez, Theo Gaffney, Juan Hinojosa, and Rodrigo Moreira. A small selection of works by undergraduate students will also be on display. This yearβs booth is curated by Lisa Mason, Sofia Rivera, Farwah Rizvi, and Farangiz Yusupova.
