Lido Pimienta will contribute a special musical performance for CONDUCTOR’s VIP Opening Night. Presented here in a rare a cappella performance, Pimienta strips her work to its most essential element: the voice.

The performance features a conversation with three matriarchal species, likely representing ancestral wisdom, environmental connection, and nurturing. An olive tree in pain from snow, a woman grieving the lost her son, a back goat running to the mountains for her life. A matriarchal resilience, eco-colonialism, grief, and the struggle between life-giving forces and destructive patriarchal power. A black goat as anti colonial destructive machine.

Centering access, equity, and knowledge-building, the conversation with Dana Farouki, Komal Shah, Jasmine Wahi, and Noah Horowitz, moderated by Gabriela Palmieri, explores how those with power in the art world can meaningfully support artists working across borders while challenging exclusionary systems.

Grounded in shared cultural histories and local networks, La Vaughn Belle, Danny Báez, Christopher Cozier, and Daniela Fifi come together with moderator Tiana Webb-Evans to explore how community-led initiatives create space for new voices, material practices, and forms of artistic freedom in the Caribbean.

The book launch of a new artist monograph by Vuslat, published by Distanz, centered on the concept of Emanet—a layered notion of trust, care, guardianship, and entrusted memory knowledge. Vuslat will be in conversation with Eric Shiner, President of Powerhouse Arts, for an evening exploring the ideas and processes behind the publication.

Within this space, artist Bishwajit Goswami welcomes you through a participatory performance, inviting you to join him in transforming the installation into a living baithak-khana—a space of informal gathering rooted in Bengal’s cultural memory.

With Kite (Oglála Lakȟóta), Cannupa Hanska Luger, and Rachel Martin, moderated by Candice Hopkins, this panel brings together Indigenous curators, artists, and collectors to discuss best practices for stewarding Indigenous art as collectors and collecting institutions. Centering Indigenous-led methodologies, the conversation will touch on research, relationship building, contracts, loaning and displaying Indigenous art.

Bringing together Khaled Jarrar, Sana Frini, Jean Shin, moderated by Emanuel Admassu, the conversation explores how territory is shaped, contested, and reimagined through diverse practices. How can artists and architects think both practically and aesthetically in the quest to remake space, identity, and belonging?
