Join us for the book launch of May We Meet In The Silence Of Our Souls, a new artist monograph by Vuslat, published by Distanz, centered on the concept of Emanet—a layered notion of trust, care, guardianship, and entrusted memory knowledge. Vuslat will be in conversation with Eric Shiner, President of Powerhouse Arts, for an evening exploring the ideas and processes behind the publication. Together, they will reflect on the evolving framework of Emanet and its broader resonance across contemporary art, ethics, and systems of care.
Through a dialogue between three exhibitions developed around this concept, the publication reflects on how we hold, pass forward, and remain responsible for what is given to us. Bringing together image, text, and material thinking, it invites the reader into a contemplative space where care, responsibility, and connection are held in quiet balance.
The conversation will be an opportunity to meet the artist.
Vuslat is a multidisciplinary artist working across drawing, sculpture, ceramics, and installation. Her practice centers on the concept of Emanet, a framework through which she explores trust, care, guardianship, memory, and collective consciousness. Drawing from mythological narratives, spiritual traditions, philosophical inquiry, and nature-culture entanglements, she develops a poetic yet conceptually precise visual language. Rooted in processes of remembering and transmission, her work reflects on forms of knowledge carried across generations and entrusted through time.
