Description

In this two session weekend class, students will learn an introductory method for screenprinting a single color repeat pattern on cotton fabric. There will be a demonstration on creating a repeat using either Photoshop or a more analog tracing method. Once films are made and screens are exposed, we will learn how to measure and set up a repeat down the table. Students will work in pairs to complete screenprinting an approximate 2.5 yard section of their individual designs to take home with them. Students are encouraged to bring ideas, imagery or motifs they would like to incorporate into their final repeat as there will be time to work on the design during the first session. Students will need to bring their own 5 yard section of 100% cotton fabric in a light to medium color for best ink visibility. Beginner screenprinting experience and comfortability with photoshop is ideal but not required.

MGC Members receive a 25% discount toward registration, and non-members receive 14 hours of additional studio time outside of class.

Saturday, June 6 10:30am–5:30pm (7 hrs)

Sunday, June 7 10:30am–5:30pm (7 hrs)
