Description
This class will cover a variety of techniques for creating e-textile switches and sensors. Students will learn the basics of working with circuit playground microcontrollers, and then learn methods of creating buttons and sensors that interact with the microcontroller to create a variety of outputs/reactions. This class is intended for beginners to both microcontrollers and sewing - no previous experience is required.

Instructor
Kay
Kay (they/them) is a multidisciplinary artist, designer, and creative technologist based in Brooklyn, NY. They are a graduate of NYU’s Interactive Telecommunications program, where they focused on wearable electronics. Kay has been working as a freelance costume designer, performer and event producer since 2018. Their costume work has been seen on stage at Bonnaroo, House of Yes, Bushwig, King of Drag, and on 'Whatcha Packin' for RuPaul's Drag Race S16. Kay is passionate about making education around technology accessible for all, and is the co-creator of the Dragtronics workshop series, along with Priyanka Makin.
