information

Artistic freedom must be championed at all costs in our ever-shifting sociopolitical reality. The notion of freedom is fundamental to the American condition, and has always been a heavily loaded concept vis-à-vis freedom of speech, freedom of religion and other founding principals.  On the eve of this nation’s 250th birthday, this exhibition examines works that exemplify, question or critique freedom in all of its many forms.

Join us for a special collaborative exhibition presented by Powerhouse Arts and AANYAA, curated by PHA President Eric Shiner.

On View: November 13 – December 11, 2025
Opening Reception: November 18, 6:30–8:30 PM
Location: Powerhouse Arts, 322 3rd Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11215

The Alumni Association of the New York Academy of Art (AANYAA) is a volunteer-led organization that works to support and enrich the alumni community of the New York Academy of Art.
