information

In this workshop we will distill a memory into a mini-comic, using a single sheet/ 8-panel format. Students will dive into the unique language of comics, combining imagery, text, and sequence to create a short comic based in their lived experience. You will learn evocative and sensory storytelling techniques, exploring memories as sights, sounds, feelings, and moods. The results will range from poetic to memoir, and students will leave with a finished mini-comic and new storytelling skills you can apply to any future project. No comics or drawing experience necessary.

Materials are provided.

Sliding scale starting at $20
